Amsterdam Schiphol transfers: Plaza meetings, Koepelstraat coaches
Schiphol is about 18 km from Amsterdam, 20-40 minutes by road. Passengers meet in Schiphol Plaza, coaches load a short walk away, and the city centre is closed to large coaches without an exemption.
Meeting in Schiphol Plaza
Schiphol is a single terminal with Arrivals 1-4 opening into Schiphol Plaza. Chauffeurs and group hosts meet there. Tell the operator which arrivals number the flight uses; it narrows the search in a busy hall.

Coaches load at the Koepelstraat arrival passage
Since 2 September 2024 the coach stop has been at the Koepelstraat arrival passage, about five minutes' walk from the Plaza. Brief the group on that walk, especially those with heavy bags or children. At busy times a host is on hand for coach drivers and passengers.
The coach waits at the P41 waiting area, which allows up to six hours and has a drivers' room and toilet. It is about ten minutes' drive from the terminal, so the driver moves off P41 once the flight is on the ground, not when the doors open.
Into Amsterdam: the S100 ring and the 7.5-tonne rule
Since 1 January 2024 coaches over 7.5 tonnes need an exemption to enter the centre inside the S100 ring, which includes Stadhouderskade, Nassaukade and De Ruijterkade. Exemptions are limited to groups such as children under 12, elderly or disabled passengers and performing artists. Most other groups use edge-of-centre coach stops at Sloterdijk, Zuid, RAI, Amstel or Holendrecht stations, where stops usually last 10 minutes, and continue by tram or metro.
When a smaller vehicle is the better choice
An executive van or a minibus is normally below the 7.5-tonne threshold and can reach a canal-ring hotel; the operator confirms the weight. For an RAI congress, coach stop H40 is close to the venue, so a full coach works well there. A school party of under-12s is one of the groups the exemption is written for; ask the operator to apply for it rather than assuming the coach must stop at the edge.
Questions
Can a coach drop us at a hotel on the canal ring?
Only with an S100 exemption. Otherwise it uses an edge-of-centre stop, or you split the group into smaller vehicles.
How far is the coach from arrivals?
About five minutes' walk, at the Koepelstraat arrival passage.
What if the flight is badly delayed?
The coach holds at P41, which allows up to six hours, and is called forward once you land. Extra waiting is handled under the operator's terms, which you see on the quote.
Can we go straight to Keukenhof?
Yes. Keukenhof at Lisse is about 40 km from Amsterdam, and a direct transfer from the airport is a common request in spring.
