Zurich Airport transfers: kerbside lanes and Stand R

Zurich Airport is about 10 km from the city, 20-35 minutes by road. The inner kerbside lanes are permit-controlled, and coaches load at a dedicated bus station stand.

Arrival 1 or Arrival 2

Zurich has Arrival 1 and Arrival 2, with the Airside Center serving Docks A, B and E. The arrival point decides where the driver collects, so put it on the request alongside the landing time. If a group is arriving on two flights that use different arrival halls, pick one hall as the gathering point and tell everyone before they travel; a single coach cannot sit at both.

The inner kerbside lane and its permit

Permitted limousines and coaches use the inner kerbside lane at Arrival 1 and 2, so chauffeur cars collect directly outside. The permit covers buses, minibuses over nine seats and vehicles over 2 m. Occasional single-trip users can get tickets at the gate without a permit, which covers operators who serve Zurich only now and then.

Coaches: Bus Station Stand R

Coaches load at Bus Station Stand R. Before the group is through, they wait in the P12-300 or RFS waiting areas and move up when called. Give travellers the stand letter; it is the one detail that stops a group wandering the forecourt.

Into the city: Zürich Bus Station at Sihlquai

Zürich Bus Station at Sihlquai is the city terminal for coaches and long-distance buses, with 28 stands, renovated and reopened in October 2024. It is next to the Swiss National Museum and the main station, so a group staying around the Hauptbahnhof can be set down there and walk. For Altstadt or lakeside hotels, the operator decides whether a direct set-down or the bus station works better; ask for the plan on the quote rather than finding out on the day.

The Circle, Messe Zürich and Lucerne

The Circle Convention Center is at the airport itself, so delegates may need only a short hop. Messe Zürich is in Oerlikon. Lucerne and the Rhine Falls, each about 50 km from Zurich, are common first-day runs; Mount Titlis at Engelberg is about 85 km.
