Dubrovnik's Old Town is walled, small and crowded in season, and road access is rationed to match. Coaches, minibuses and even eight-seat vans book their approach through the Bus Web Shop.
The Bus Web Shop and the Old City traffic zone
A special traffic zone covers the Old City area from Ilijina glavica to Pile and Boninovo. Vehicles with 7+1, 8+1 or 9 to 30+ seats must book and pay through the Bus Web Shop. That catches executive vans as well as coaches, a point many organisers miss.
The zone applies in the main season and during events and peak periods. Ask the operator to check your dates against it when quoting.

Pile or Ploce: choosing the drop-off
Booked tourist vehicles may stop only at the Pile and Ploce drop-off zones. Pile lies on the western side, near Fort Lovrijenac. Pick the one that fits the first stop of the programme, and tell guests which gate they return to; with two drop-off zones and a walled town, a lost straggler costs time.
From Ruđer Bošković airport into town
Dubrovnik Airport is about 20 km from the Old Town, 30 to 40 minutes by road. The airport shuttle runs to Ploče Gate and Gruž bus station in about 35 minutes, which works for individuals. A group vehicle heading into the zone still needs its Bus Web Shop booking, so give the operator arrival times early.
Agree the exact meeting spot with the operator and pass it to every guest before they fly; a group scattered across the arrivals area delays everyone.
Ston, Kotor and Mostar: border days
Ston is about an hour away. Kotor in Montenegro takes 2 to 3 hours and Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina 2.5 to 3 hours, both including the border. Every passenger needs a valid travel document, and a slow crossing can stretch the day, so avoid tight evening commitments on return.
