Terminal 2A handles Schengen flights and 2B non-Schengen. A party with some members flying in from inside the Schengen area and some from outside it will come through different doors. The public bus stops for the 100E and 200E are on the arrivals level between the two, a useful landmark when telling people where to gather.

The Bus Terminal, a minute or two from arrivals

Tourist buses pick up at the Bus Terminal, one to two minutes from the terminals. It suits a quick 10-minute load; longer waits move to the separate Bus Parking. So the coach stages in Bus Parking and comes forward when the group is ready: heads counted, bags collected, then the call to the driver.

Chauffeur cars and executive vans

The Bus Terminal rules are written for tourist buses. For a car or van, the operator agrees a meeting place with you ahead of the flight and sends it in writing, so the traveller walks out knowing where to look.

BABU permits for Buda Castle

Coach entry to the Budavár protected zone needs a permit through the BABU system only. Inside the zone coaches may stop 15 minutes, for set-down and pick-up only, and must follow the route approved in BABU; overstays and deviations bring surcharges. Designated coach parking is at Palota út, Attila út and Alsó Mészáros utca, with set-down at Ybl Miklós tér.

In practice a Castle visit means a set-down, a guided walk and a pickup timed to the minute. Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church are in the Castle District, so most groups cover them in the same visit.

Danube cruises and the road to Vienna

Danube river cruises pass Parliament and the Castle, and cruise groups often need a transfer at one end. Vienna is about 245 km away, 2.5-3 hours, so some groups fly into one capital and out of the other.
