Milan Malpensa transfers by car, van and coach
Malpensa is about 50 km from Milan, 50-75 minutes by road. It is further out than most city airports, so the pick-up time limits and the length of the drive both shape the plan.
The T1 pick-up area: 15 minutes, Telepass required
On the Terminal 1 arrivals floor, a pick-up area with a 15-minute limit is open to licensed chauffeur cars and coaches with Telepass. Overstaying brings penalties, so the vehicle only enters once the party is at the door. For longer waits there is a waiting area between the terminals, with a 60-minute maximum, and the airport car parks.

Malpensa has two terminals. The pick-up area described above is at T1, and scheduled airport buses use the bus area on Level -1 of T1. Confirm the terminal before the vehicle is placed; a group at T2 needs a separate arrangement.
A 50 km transfer and the driver's day
At 50-75 minutes each way, a Malpensa run takes a real share of a driver's working day. An early arrival followed by an afternoon tour, or a late landing after a full day of city work, can push against the limits on driving and rest. Give the operator the full programme, not just the airport leg, so the vehicle and crew plan fits. A split, with one vehicle for the airport and another for the afternoon, is sometimes the cleaner answer.
Milan's Area C and Area B
Area C (the centre) and Area B restrictions run Monday to Friday 07:30-19:30. Tourist buses with more than nine seats pay an Area C fare that includes bus-area parking. Fast-rotation bays near major sights allow stops only while passengers board or alight, and a temporary pass allows up to 30 minutes of loading near hotels. Area B bars polluting vehicles across most of the city.
Linate, Fiera Milano and Lake Como
Linate is about 7 km from Milan and an alternative for some flights. Fiera Milano at Rho, northwest of the city, is the main trade fair site. Lake Como is about 50 km from Milan, 1-1.5 hours, and Bergamo about 50 km, so a group landing at Malpensa can head for either without passing through Area C.
