Munich Airport is about 38 km from the city, 40-60 minutes by road, one of the longer airport runs in this list. Cars use the terminal arrival lanes; coaches use dedicated long-distance stops beside Terminal 2.
Cars and vans: the kerbside arrival lanes
Pre-booked cars and vans collect at the terminal kerbside arrival lanes. At Terminal 2 the arrival lane is on Level 03 and the departure lane on Level 04, a classic source of drivers and passengers on different floors. Terminal forecourts allow a 10-minute stop twice per day, so the driver waits elsewhere and pulls in when the party is ready.

Coaches: stops 21 and 22 beside Terminal 2
Long-distance coach stops 21 and 22 are beside Terminal 2. From Terminal 1, modules A-E, it is a 5-10 minute walk. For a large group, either gather at Terminal 2 or brief the leader on the walk from T1 before anyone flies.
The Altstadtring and where a coach may stop
There is no coach parking inside the Altstadtring. Groups are set down in designated zones, 20 minutes maximum, at Blumenstrasse, Frauenstrasse, Karl-Scharnagl-Ring, Maximiliansplatz or Oskar-von-Miller-Ring. The low-emission zone inside the Mittlerer Ring bars high-emission vehicles.
Long-stay coach parking is at Fröttmaning and Messestadt-Ost P+R, and central options include Hansastrasse 51 (about 40 buses), ZOB Arnulfstrasse and Olympiagelände. For an Altstadt hotel, expect a 20-minute set-down and the coach leaving for one of these.
Oktoberfest, Messe München and the arenas
During Oktoberfest, 18 September to 3 October 2027, there is no parking at Theresienwiese and ZOB Arnulfstrasse is usually full, so the airport run and the Wiesn need separate plans. For Messe München in Riem, coach parking is at Messestadt-Ost P+R. The Allianz Arena has its own coach parking, and BMW Welt is near the Olympiagelände coach park.
A 38 km run and the rest of the day
At 40-60 minutes each way, the airport leg is a meaningful slice of a driver's day. If the same coach is meant to take the group on to Dachau, about 20 km from Munich, or to a trade-fair hall after check-in, list those legs on the request. The operator can then decide whether one driver covers the day or a second is needed.
