Florence Peretola airport transfers: NCC cars and coaches
Florence Airport is about 5 km from the city, 15-25 minutes by road. The airport is small and simple; the Florence ZTL Bus rules are what shape a coach transfer.
One terminal, NCC desk inside
Florence has a single passenger terminal with arrivals on the ground floor. A chauffeur (NCC) consortium desk is inside the terminal, and pre-booked drivers meet their passengers in arrivals. For one to three travellers with luggage, an executive car is usually all that is needed on a 5 km run.

Coaches: four yellow-striped bays
Coaches use four yellow-striped bays at the airport bus station in the arrivals area. With only four, timing matters: the coach arrives for your group, loads and clears, rather than sitting on a bay another group needs.
The contrassegno, and why one fine matters
The Florence ZTL Bus covers all built-up Florence at all hours, so every coach needs a contrassegno bought online. It must be displayed, and cameras have enforced it since 1 July 2025. Since 15 November 2025 a single parking fine blocks permit purchases for the operator's whole fleet for seven days, which gives operators every reason to follow the stopping rules exactly.
Coach stops include Piazzale Michelangelo, Piazza Vittorio Veneto, Savonarola (drop-off only) and Largo Vincenzo Giudice. Coach parking is at Viale XI Agosto (T2 Guidoni), Campioni del 56, via Palazzeschi and Piazzale Galileo.
Why a midi coach often suits Florence
A 29-35 seat midi coach is shorter than a full-size touring coach and easier to handle in old streets. It still needs the contrassegno, but a group of 30 finds it simpler to load and unload at a busy coach stop, and it wastes fewer seats than a 57-seater.
Pisa, Chianti and match days at the Franchi
Some groups arrive at Pisa, about 85 km away, and transfer by road. Chianti (Greve) is about 30 km from Florence and Siena about 75 km, so wine and day tours can begin at the airport. On Fiorentina match days and other stadium events, the coach park by the Artemio Franchi is shut, so hotels in that area need a different set-down plan.

Tram T2 runs to Santa Maria Novella in about 20 minutes. It suits light travellers; groups with luggage usually prefer a vehicle.
