Venice Marco Polo transfers to Piazzale Roma and beyond
Marco Polo is about 13 km from Piazzale Roma, 20-30 minutes by road. A road transfer into Venice ends at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto; many groups also stay on the mainland or head straight out to the Veneto.
Loading inside the airport car parks
Chauffeur (NCC) cars and coaches may use the controlled traffic zone, but loading takes place inside the airport car parks. Tourist buses are exempt from the zone's 10-minute limit. The Sosta Breve short-stay car park allows 20 minutes for loading, which suits a car or van with a small party.

Coaches: the PBus area north of the terminal
Commercial coaches use the PBus parking area on the north side of the terminal. Marco Polo has one main passenger terminal, so the group gathers in arrivals and the host leads them out to PBus together.
The ZTL BUS pass, Tronchetto and the People Mover
Any tourist coach entering Venice's ZTL BUS area must display a pass issued by AVM. Without one, a coach may only transit the Mestre bypass and the airport link road. Inside the zone, coaches stop only in authorised boarding areas and dedicated car parks. Tronchetto allows one hour maximum, and the People Mover runs from there to Piazzale Roma. ZTL check-in points are staffed 06:00-20:15; outside those hours the pass is bought online.
Luggage for the last stretch
From Piazzale Roma, hotels in San Marco, Dorsoduro or Castello are reached on foot or by water. Brief the group to pack for that: one case each that they can manage over bridges. Murano and Burano are reached by water bus, so island stays follow the same pattern. Mestre hotels on the mainland are the exception; a vehicle can take the group to the door.
Padua, Verona and the Dolomites
Padua is about 40 km from Venice and Verona about 120 km; Cortina d'Ampezzo is about 160 km, 2-2.5 hours. Groups heading there can leave from the airport on the link road and bypass, which a coach may use without the ZTL BUS pass. Treviso Airport, about 40 km from Venice, is another arrival option.
