Dubrovnik Airport transfers to the Old Town and beyond

Dubrovnik Airport is about 20 km from the Old Town, 30-40 minutes by road. In season even a seven-seat van needs a booking to stop near the walls, so paperwork matters more here than at bigger airports.

A meeting point settled before departure

Dubrovnik Airport publishes no dedicated pickup or coach staging point for private transfers. The operator agrees the exact place to meet with you when the booking is made and confirms it in writing. Share it with the whole party, including anyone on a separate flight.

Drive to downtown

The Old City traffic zone and the Bus Web Shop

A special traffic zone covers the Old City from Ilijina glavica to Pile and Boninovo. Vehicles with 7+1, 8+1 or 9-30+ seats must book and pay through the Bus Web Shop, and booked tourist vehicles may stop only at the Pile and Ploče drop-off zones. The zone applies in the main season and during events and peak periods. For you, that means even an executive van is booked into the system, and drop-off is at a gate, not a hotel door.

Old Town, Lapad or Cavtat

Hotel choice changes the transfer. Old Town and Ploče stays depend on the Pile and Ploče drop-off zones. Lapad, Babin Kuk, Gruž and Cavtat are other hotel areas; ask the operator whether your hotel sits inside the zone before assuming a door-to-door drop.

The airport shuttle as a fallback

The airport shuttle runs to Ploče Gate and Gruž bus station in about 35 minutes. Light travellers sometimes use it; groups with luggage and a fixed programme usually prefer their own vehicle, which leaves when the last person is through arrivals rather than to a timetable.

Border runs: Kotor and Mostar

Kotor in Montenegro is about 90 km away, 2-3 hours including the border; Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina is about 140 km, 2.5-3 hours. These are international transfers, so passports, border time and the driver's working day all go into the plan. Ston is about 55 km, an hour, for a shorter outing.
