Sports team transport: squads, kit and match-day timings
A squad travels with more kit than most groups and less tolerance for delay. We arrange minibuses and coaches with licensed partner operators, sized for players, staff and bags together.
Minibus or coach: D1 or D
A minibus for up to 16 passengers and no more than 8 m long is driven on a D1 licence; larger buses and coaches carrying more than 8 passengers need category D. For a first team with coaches, physios and kit staff, the count often passes 16, and the vehicle moves up a class. Count staff as well as players before requesting.

Kit volume decides as much as head count
A Sprinter Travel 75 minibus has about 2 m³ of rear luggage space; a 13 m Tourismo coach has about 12 m³ in its underfloor bays. Kit bags, medical cases and ball sacks fill space fast, so a squad of 18 may need a midi coach or a coach even though a minibus has the seats. Tell the operator what is travelling, not just who.
Tachographs, rest and away fixtures
Tachograph records are checked at the roadside and at operator premises, so a driver will not stretch hours to beat a curfew. A long away trip followed by an evening kick-off and an immediate return is exactly where a second driver or an overnight stop is needed. Build the return into the request, not as an afterthought.
Stadium arrivals
Bayern's Allianz Arena provides coach parking on site, and Berlin's Olympiastadion has signed coach bays. Florence is the awkward one: on event days the coach park beside the Artemio Franchi closes, so the operator plans an alternative set-down. For a tournament over several days, ask for the same driver throughout where hours allow; it saves a briefing every morning.
Questions
Can a 19-seat minibus carry our squad?
If the kit fits. Seats are rarely the constraint; luggage space usually is.
Can we leave straight after the final whistle?
Only if the driver's hours allow the return. The operator plans rest into the day.
Can the coach wait at the stadium?
Where coach parking exists, yes. Some grounds close nearby coach parks on event days.
